Privacy Policy
We know that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This Privacy Policy describes how teeinblue.com and its affiliates (collectively “Teeinblue”) collect and process your personal information through Teeinblue websites, devices, products, and services that reference this Privacy Policy (collectively "Teeinblue Services").
By using Teeinblue Services, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described herein. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your explicit consent separately.
This Policy primarily covers personal information Teeinblue collects for its own purposes as a Data Controller. Additionally, when Merchants use Teeinblue Services to process personal data belonging to their end-customers (e.g., for product personalization), Teeinblue acts as a Data Processor on behalf of the Merchant. Our role and obligations as a Data Processor under regulations like GDPR are further detailed in the section "Teeinblue as a Data Processor" below and are governed by our separate Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Use of features involving such processing requires explicit acceptance of our DPA.
What Personal Information About Customers Does Teeinblue Collect?
We collect your personal information in order to provide and continually improve our products and services.
Here are the types of personal information we collect:
- Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you provide when you access to our Website and take actions (e.g., setting up your account, configuring the app), or communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, store information, and payment details if applicable. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our Teeinblue Services.
- Automatic Information: We automatically collect and store certain types of information about your use of Teeinblue Services, including information about your interaction with content and services available through Teeinblue Services. Like many websites, we use "cookies" and other unique identifiers, and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser or device accesses Teeinblue Services and other content served by or on behalf of Teeinblue on other websites.
- Information from Other Sources: We might receive information about you from other sources, such as platform providers (e.g., Shopify) when you install or use our app through their marketplace, or updated delivery and address information from our carriers, which we use to correct our records and deliver your next purchase more easily.
- Information Processed on Behalf of Merchants: When Merchants use Teeinblue Services, we process personal data belonging to the Merchant's end-customers strictly as instructed by the Merchant via the Services. This typically includes data necessary for product personalization and order processing (e.g., names, order details, personalization inputs). In this capacity, Teeinblue acts as a Data Processor (see section below).
For What Purposes Does Teeinblue Use Your Personal Information?
We use your personal information to operate, provide, develop, and improve the products and services that we offer our customers.
When acting as a Data Controller (primarily for information related to our direct relationship with you, the Merchant):
- Provide, troubleshoot, and improve Teeinblue Services: We use your personal information to provide functionality, manage your account, analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the usability and effectiveness of the Teeinblue Services.
- Recommendations and personalization: We use your personal information to recommend features, products, and services that might be of interest to you within the Teeinblue platform.
- Comply with legal obligations: In certain cases, we collect and use your personal information to comply with laws. For instance, we may collect certain Merchant information regarding place of establishment and bank account information for identity verification and other purposes.
- Communicate with you: We use your personal information to communicate with you in relation to Teeinblue Services via different channels (e.g., by phone, e-mail, chat) for support, updates, and administrative purposes.
- Advertising/Marketing: We use your personal information to inform you about features, products, and services that might be of interest to you. We do not use information that personally identifies you to display interest-based ads without your consent where required.
- Fraud Prevention and Credit Risks: We use personal information to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in order to protect the security of our customers, Teeinblue, and others. We may also use scoring methods to assess and manage credit risks.
When acting as a Data Processor (processing end-customer data on behalf of Merchants):
- To provide the core functionality of the Teeinblue Services as instructed by the Merchant, specifically enabling product personalization based on end-customer input and facilitating the transfer of necessary order details (including personalization data) for fulfillment purposes.
- To perform troubleshooting or provide support related to the processing of this data for the specific Merchant, as necessary and permitted under our DPA.
- We process this data solely based on the Merchant's instructions and our contractual agreements, including the DPA. This data is used only to provide or maintain/improve the service infrastructure used for that Merchant, and explicitly not for Teeinblue's general product development, marketing, or any other purpose not directly related to servicing that specific Merchant under the DPA.
What About Cookies and Other Identifiers?
To enable our systems to recognize your browser or device and to provide and improve Teeinblue Services, we use cookies and other identifiers. For more information about cookies and how we use them, please read our Cookies Notice.
Teeinblue as a Data Processor (GDPR and Similar Regulations)
When Merchants use the Teeinblue app to handle their end-customers' personal data (such as names, order details, personalization data provided for products), Teeinblue acts as a "Data Processor" under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar data protection laws. The Merchant acts as the "Data Controller".
Our processing activities, responsibilities, and liabilities as a Data Processor are strictly defined by and limited to the terms set forth in our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and applicable data protection laws.
Key points regarding our role as a Data Processor:
- We process end-customer personal data only as necessary and instructed by the Merchant via the Services.
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures as detailed further in the DPA.
- We will provide reasonable assistance to Merchants (Data Controllers) to help them fulfill their obligations to respond to end-customer Data Subject Requests (DSRs), to the extent required under applicable data protection law and as further outlined in our DPA. End-customers should typically direct their requests to the Merchant.
- We process this data exclusively for the purpose of providing the contracted Services to the Merchant and do not use it for Teeinblue's independent purposes.
- Our commitments and the specific terms governing our data processing activities on behalf of Merchants are detailed in our Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Agreement to the DPA is mandatory for using features that involve processing end-customer personal data subject to such laws. The DPA can be accessed here:

Does Teeinblue Share Your Personal Information?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling our customers’ personal information to others. We share customers’ personal information only as described below and with subsidiaries TEEINBLUE PTE. LTD. controls that either are subject to this Privacy Policy or follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Policy.
-
Third-Party Service Providers (Sub-processors): We employ other companies and individuals (sub-processors) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include hosting services, payment processing, sending communications, analyzing data, and providing customer service. These third-party service providers have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but may not use it for other purposes. When these sub-processors handle personal data processed by Teeinblue on behalf of a Merchant, Teeinblue ensures that:
- Appropriate contractual safeguards are in place, consistent with our DPA and data protection laws.
- We maintain a list of our current sub-processors, accessible here: [Link to Sub-processor List if available] or available upon request.
- We will notify Merchants of any intended changes concerning the addition or replacement of sub-processors in advance, thereby giving the Merchant the opportunity to object to such changes where required by law (e.g., GDPR Art. 28(2)).
- Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy other businesses or services. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy (unless the customer consents otherwise). Also, in the unlikely event that TEEINBLUE PTE. LTD. or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.
- Protection of Teeinblue and Others: We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements (including the DPA); or protect the rights, property, or safety of Teeinblue, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
- With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when personal information about you might be shared with third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information (this applies primarily when we act as Data Controller).
How Secure Is Information About Me?
We design our systems with your security and privacy in mind.
- We work to protect the security of your personal information during transmission by using encryption protocols and software.
- Where applicable (e.g., if we handle payments directly, though often this is via platforms like Shopify), we follow relevant security standards like the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage, and disclosure of personal customer information. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you.
- Our devices offer security features to protect them against unauthorized access and loss of data. You can control these features and configure them based on your needs. (This sentence was in the original but moved here for better flow).
- We apply appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the personal data we process, whether acting as a Controller or Processor. Our security measures apply to all data we process, including data processed on behalf of Merchants, with specific commitments potentially outlined in our DPA.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Teeinblue Services, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements. Data processed on behalf of Merchants (as a Processor) is retained according to the instructions of the Merchant or as defined in our DPA and applicable law, and is typically deleted upon termination of the service or Merchant request, subject to legal obligations.
Your Choices and Rights
Regarding personal data for which Teeinblue is the Data Controller (e.g., your account information):
- You can access, update, or correct certain information in your account settings.
- You may have rights under applicable law (like GDPR) to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal data, or to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability. Please contact us using the details below to exercise these rights.
Regarding personal data for which Teeinblue is the Data Processor (end-customer data processed via the Merchant's store):
- End-customers should direct requests concerning their personal data (access, deletion, etc.) to the Merchant (Data Controller) from whom they made the purchase.
- Teeinblue will assist Merchants in responding to these requests in accordance with the terms outlined in our DPA.
International Data Transfers
Teeinblue may transfer your personal information to countries outside of your country of residence, including Singapore where TEEINBLUE PTE. LTD. is located. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer personal information internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable data protection laws. For transfers of personal data subject to GDPR or similar laws outside the originating territory (e.g., EEA/UK), we typically rely on mechanisms like the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), unless another valid transfer mechanism applies. Further details may be provided in our DPA or relevant documentation regarding SCCs.
